Would you like to learn about Scrum?

Recently I decided to take the knowledge in my head and put it in a course. I’ve been working as a Scrum Master for a number of years having trained up 3 different groups. I enjoy using Scrum and now know and see all the benefits it has to offer. When using it you see how easy it is to break things down, have iterative release and really just focus.

So, I created a new Udemy course to pass on this info. And as visitors to this site I decided to include a nice coupon link to get it at a much reduced price. You can actually pick up my course (which will be/is a $99 dollar course) for just $10. Yep, $10 to learn about scrum and understand how its used and get benefits. You interested??? I created a Udemy Course on WordPress Ultimatum Framework

Well, my first course has finally been approved so happy. For a first course I wanted to do the basics; for people that have no knowledge or want to see what framework like; so that I can create future courses expanding on this (as well as add any new lectures need to). Already working on my second course which is completely different.

I gave away few free tokens but I thought I’d send out few more.
https://www.udemy.com/beginning-with-the-ultimatum-wordpress-theme-framework/?couponCode=udmstufree

And then if those gone I thought I’d create a number of coupons for just $5 to get people interested; thats about 89% off the price
https://www.udemy.com/beginning-with-the-ultimatum-wordpress-theme-framework/?couponCode=yt20155dol

And finally if all those run out there are some for $9 which is about 80% off

I’ve been inspired by a number of trainers; just need to finish script for second course (around other daily things) and get recorded.

Magix Music Maker 2015 Premium

I recently had the opportunity to review the latest Magix Music Maker; Magix Music Maker 2015 Premium. Magix music maker; as the name states; is a music maker program; but one that is aimed at the average user and not a professional musician.

What it helps you do is use loops provided and VST to produce music using multiple tracks; making up a tune using small parts at a time. You can produce something that is small or large over time using this method. Also, as its so easy to just pull these loops into the tracks you can see how it sounds on the fly. Its amazing how easy it is.

When producting this music you can use supplied loops, you can also buy DVD’s from Magix with loops on there as well as using their download service. These loops generally sorted in style and then instrument folders which means you can easily pick all loops with in a single style to make your music OR even multiple styles. Its amazing how it can all mix together.

Instead of me trying to explain more; why not take a look at the video…

You could win my 8 Core Mac Pro

I wanted to spend a little time and introduce you to a campaign I have just started. I am looking for contributions to help me upgrade some hardware to improve and produce better video content for a number of channels (I list 2 in there but not all of them) including TechnoInfo4U channel content.

To give back I am also on success drawing a name from the contributers and giving them my old Mac Pro once all hardware has been aquired.

Please take a look at the following to enter. Also please can you share.

Introducing my Dell Mini 9

I recently posted from my holiday about a bit of old technology I bought to use. I was looking for an older laptop so I could create a Linux machine and came across a Dell Mini 9 on eBay. I put down my small bid and when aution had completed I had won, ya.

This came installed with Ubuntu 14.04 (which I may change in the future) which was fine for what I wanted. I believe it also has 1Gb memory and 16Gb of storage space.

I decided that it would be great to take this little machine on holiday with me to give it a good test. My previous holiday; last year; I took a Android Tablet with me which was great; although I found that the wireless on it was a bit hit and miss. I did also take, this year, my Nexus 7 with me which in the end I didn’t use other than once (most of Internet was used from our room on the 6th floor and I found that the WiFi on the Nexus didn’t work too well; as oppose to the Mini which got good WiFi signal) because of the connection.

The Dell Mini 9 was used daily to view YouTube videos, I made a blog or two on it and it was also used for social media such as Facebook. I was suprised really on how useful this little machine was giving great WiFi connection even on the 6th floor and how easy it was to use the small keyboard to make things such as blog posts. Over all its was a very usuable system for doing small tasks such as browsing the web. At such a check price also I had no issue in sticking in the backpack and taking it around.

I often see people in Starbucks and Costas here in the UK with their laptops out; usually MacBooks or similar. I may have to start taking this Mini 9 out just to show people that such older tech is still usable and at such a cheap price (and so portable) it wouldn’t matter if it got lost or damaged.

In conclution, I am very pleased with the Mini 9; its still very usable, portable and solid. I can see it being used for quite some time still.

Older Technology Still Does The Job

I’m here, sitting in my hotel room in Majorca connected to an expensive WiFi which I paid for writing this blog on a old Dell Mini 9 I picked up a week or so before I came on holiday.

Most people; and I used to be one of them; changes their technology every 1 – 2 years, getting the latest and greatest processors or machine.

Over the past few years though I have come to the conclusion that although it’s great to have brand new technology; this also gives people with less cash to splash a great chance to upgrade to newer technology; or older newer technology.

I myself have now benefitted from this with a purchase 6 months ago of an older 8 core Mac Pro and now this Dell Mini which only cost £30.

I can say that this Mini 9 (which has Ubuntu 14.04 on at the moment but when I get back I will install Mint) has allowed myself and family to stay in contact with the world and at a price that can’t complain about.

As the title suggests; Old Technology Still Does the Job and so says my Mac Pro, Canon 400D, Sony WX200, Mini 9 and a few other items I could mention.

So, if a friend of your is getting some new tech then certainly suggest a purchase of their old.. Or let me know.

Corel Graphics Suite X7 Review

Some time ago I had the oportunity to review Corel’s Graphic Suite X6 which I was excited to do as it contained a vector graphics suite, photo editor as well as webpage editor and other interesting tools like one to search for CC images etc.

So when X7 came out I reached out and were happy to receive a review copy from Corel – although this time it was the download version.

I can say that with X6 it had a fantastic manual so I presume that the boxed version of X7 is the same; however this look and review is of just the software products.

You can check the video below for this look through and review; as a final opinion though I thing this is a great product and although not cheap it works out much cheaper than the other suite on the market (Adobe’s) and offers more than enough functionality for me…
