Two high editors and a reporter at Newsweek had been fired on Monday, and two different reporters left in limbo, in a purge that focused staff concerned in protection of the corporate’s monetary and authorized troubles.

Bob Roe, editor in chief; Kenneth Li, govt information director; and Celeste Katz, a reporter, had been dismissed. Katz had reported on the corporate’s affairs, together with a raid by the Manhattan district legal professional’s workplace final month, and Li had overseen the protection.
