Elizabeth Warren pushes for Fed vote on Wells Fargo reform plan

WASHINGTON — Sen. Elizabeth Warren is requesting that the Federal Reserve Board of Governors maintain a proper vote on whether or not to just accept a plan from Wells Fargo & Co. to handle shopper abuses.

In a letter to Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, Warren, D-Mass., mentioned it will be significant for Senate-confirmed central financial institution governors to vote on enforcement selections so Congress and the general public can maintain them accountable.

In February, the Fed board voted unanimously to order Wells Fargo to restrict its development and enhance its company governance in response to the financial institution’s unauthorized accounts scandal and different issues.
