FCC watchdog seems into modifications that benefited Sinclair

WASHINGTON — In April, Federal Communications Fee Chairman Ajit Pai led the cost for his company to approve guidelines permitting tv broadcasters to vastly improve the variety of stations they personal. A number of weeks later, Sinclair Broadcasting introduced a blockbuster $three.9 billion deal to purchase Tribune Media — a deal these new guidelines made potential.

By the top of the 12 months, in a beforehand undisclosed transfer, the highest inside watchdog for the FCC opened an investigation into whether or not Pai and his aides had improperly pushed for the rule modifications and whether or not they had timed them to profit Sinclair, based on Rep.
