Glass Lewis bashes Wells Fargo auditor

In an uncommon transfer, a distinguished agency that advises shareholders is urging Wells Fargo traders to oppose the financial institution’s longtime auditor following a fake-accounts scandal that has rocked the corporate.

The agency, Glass Lewis, is making the advice as Wells traders put together to vote this month on the financial institution’s annual shareholders assembly to approve KPMG as Wells’ impartial accounting agency for 2018. In a report back to traders, Glass Lewis notes it usually helps an organization’s alternative of auditor, besides when it believes the auditor’s independence or integrity has been compromised. KPMG has been Wells’ auditor since 1931, based on the report.
