How a typical interview query fuels the gender pay hole

Aileen Rizo was coaching math lecturers within the public colleges in Fresno when she found that her male colleagues with comparable jobs had been being paid considerably extra.

She was informed there was a justifiable purpose: Pay was based mostly on salaries at earlier jobs, and she or he had earned lower than that they had earlier of their careers.

Rizo, now working for the Meeting, sued. In April, the Ninth U.S. Circuit Courtroom of Appeals dominated in her favor, saying that prior wage couldn’t be used to justify a wage hole between female and male workers.
