News: Cuphead developers have plans to release a physical collector’s edition

StudioMDHR has big plans for Cuphead, made all the more understandable following its pretty decent release. In response to a question from a Twitter user the developer has said that it’s got plans for a physical release, and also a Collector’s Edition of the game.

It’ll be interesting to see what a collector’s edition of the game would look like, and for a game that possesses such wonderful art it surely deserves a physical release. I’ll start forming a queue now.

Prior to its September release Cuphead had been in development for over seven years, and on this evidence who can disagree with the saying that all good things come to those who wait? The game has an excellent, memorable, and fantastically distinct 1930s animated cartoon visual style. It isn’t your typical platform game, and is more geared to being a boss-rush style game with moments of platforming. Cuphead also looks hard. Very, very hard. Players need to be extremely precise in their movements, methodical in their approach, and so very patient.
