Stanford professor drops defamation lawsuit in opposition to scientific critics

Stanford College environmental Professor Mark Jacobson made an enormous splash in 2015 with a paper predicting that renewable sources may present 100 % of the power wanted within the 48 contiguous states by 2050.

However he made a good greater splash final September, when he responded to a critique of his declare printed in a number one scientific journal by submitting a $10 million defamation lawsuit.

After taking months of flak for what appeared to be an effort to stifle official debate by bringing it into the courtroom, Jacobson withdrew the lawsuit final week.
