US, AT&T fireplace opening salvos as authorities seeks to dam merger

WASHINGTON — The federal government and AT&T exchanged opening salvos in a federal trial Thursday because the U.S. seeks to dam the phone big from absorbing Time Warner, in a case that would form how customers get — and the way a lot they pay for — streaming TV and flicks.

The Justice Division has sued to dam the $85 billion deal, saying it will harm competitors and other people must pay extra to look at their favourite exhibits, whether or not on a TV display, smartphone or pill.
